The Changes of My Philosophy
I quitted my position as the Festival Assistant Director right before the Chinese New. There were several reasons that caused my decision but the main reason was for me to have a longer Chinese New Year 'Holiday' with my family.
"This is so not you!"
For those of you who know me well enough will definitely say that.
While studying in the university, 'studies, assignments, activities, and sports were always on top of my considerations during trimester break. I believed it was a waste of time by spending the holidays at home when I can exchange it with knowledge and experience.
But what's the most important for me is family now. I believe there is no right or wrong though. I just have to make sure i don't regret after every choice I made.
It was the first morning of Chinese New Year 2006.
"Da Jie... Da Jie...," Hanreen said, "I'm hungry."
"Da Jie... Da Jie... Look at Yiren," I said, "grandma wants all of us in red today but he still chooses to wear a black T-shirt!"
"Da Jie... Da Jie...," Shereene said, "what do you think about my cloth? Do you think I can wear like this?"
"Hai yoooooo..." our eldest sister said, "all of you a... Keep calling me for everything"
Yes, this is how important she is for us. She always scolds us badly for every minor mistake we do. But we know the inner side of her is very indulgent. I admit that four of us are depending too much on her. We already reached the stage where we cannot live without her! I always believe that it is not easy to be the eldest, especially when you have lots of siblings.
There are several special days for mighty people. Teacher's Day, Father's Day, Mother's day... I will name 23 Feb as Da Jie's Day. It's not the date of my eldest sister's birthday but it will be an extreme important date for her. I pray days and night so that her operation will go smoothly without a hitch. I don't mind paying anything of mine in return. Because worth it.
